Ai, Love Endures No. 5 
This is Ai (the Japanese word for "love"). In Japanese Buddhism, Ai is passionate caring love, and a fundamental desire. Ai is extended to everyone and everything - especially the odd and the peculiar, naturally. Ai, also known as Love Endures Number 5, is the fifth sculpture in a series of six. The Love Endures Series by artist Calan Ree is inspired by Love, Strength and Individuality. Each piece is hand sculpted with stone clays and finished with acrylic paints and mediums before being sealed with a protective acrylic coat.
Ai stands approximately 11" tall and 3.5" wide. |
