Forgotten, The Tiny Toy Maker
With mega-malls and factories, video games and cell phones, the days of handmade toys are fading from memory. Could this mean the disappearance of elves as well? There are only a few elves left and they are kept from disintegrating by a small handful of children who appreciate simple elf-made toys. So long as there is a bit of love out there for their craft, these remaining elves will hang on. This is one of them. His name is Forgotten, and he is, in fact, a tiny toy maker.
Forgotten is a one-of-a-kind handmade piece by artist Calan Ree. He is made of gourd, wire and metal armature, stone clay and fiber. He measures around 18.5" tall and around 7" wide. He has a small wire in his back and is meant to be hung. Alternatively, he could be placed upright on display with the aid of a doll stand. |
