Large Specimen Jar Bookmark and Share

Rooting around in the grotto, I discovered this intriguing specimen jar. Sporting a label that reads "Juvenile Monopodidae occularis", the jar contains a creature that apparently hails from a 'vestigial marsh'. I know that just north of Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire is a land locked salt marsh, mostly filled with sediment and surrounded by rumors of flesh-eating bacteria and nights filled with anguished cries.

Handmade by the delightful artist Amy L. Rawson, this vintage jar stands approximately 5 inches high and is one-of-a-kind. The creature in the jar is made of latex and the jar is sealed for everyone's protection. The label is handmade, as well, of course.

Perfect as an accent for any room in the house, or as a gift for the person who has everything. And, as my brother Mordecai will discover - the perfect size for a winter stocking stuffer.
